JAMES KERNAN Born and raised in Connecticut, James Kernan was admitted to the Connecticut Bar for the practice of law in 1971. Since that time he has devoted his career to obtaining excellent results for the clients he has been privileged to represent. A founder of the firm, he now serves as senior counsel.

Bachelors Degree, Boston College
Law Degree, George Washington University (with honors)
Post-Grad Courses at NYU School of Law and Wesleyan University

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Attorney Kernan has advocated for his clients in thousands of cases throughout Connecticut involving injury or wrongful death. Many of the cases involved catastrophic and complex injuries and engineering, scientific and medical elements. He has successfully litigated complex legal issues before the Connecticut Appellate Court and the Connecticut Supreme Court as well as the United States Court of Appeals. In 1991 he was Board Certified as a Civil Trial Specialist by the National Board of Trial Advocacy and in 1993 obtained the highest possible AV® rating from Martindale-Hubbell.

PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES
In the area of legal ethics, Attorney Kernan has been appointed by the Administrative Judge for the Hartford Judicial District to serve on the Hartford Judicial District grievance panel. He has also been appointed by the Chief Court Administrator of the State of Connecticut as a Connecticut Attorney Trial Referee and Attorney Arbitrator.
